Should we add that to the Quant syllabus above?

Thank you. OG 2023 had it under Functions as the main area and that's how we classified them in the past - under Functions. It includes a variety of topics including coordinate plane, functions, and custom characters...

Yes, it is - it is called Functions on the GMAT, so we use the more GMAT-like terminology, also lots of newbs get their undies bunched up when they see the word geometry. However, even regular geometry concepts are still somewhat present on the GMAT - e.g. the concept of area, volume, perimeter and surface are still used to test other concept on the GMAT, e.g. you may get a word problem or probability question that uses area for example. There are a few of those on the GMAT prep and in the latest OG.

In the end, they moved things around, but they remained almost the same as the Classic GMAT.

Who spent hundreds of bucks to buy books suitable for the old version? They are still useful for the new one, but SC/Geometry.

I would not say they did not work hard to upgrade an exam and align it to a different business world. However, at the core, the song remains the same.

There's virtually no Sentence Correction on the Focus Edition, though there can be cases in which you have to analyze the meaings of sentence in DI questions.

Currently, Sentence Correction questions appear on the Executive Assessment (EA) only.

Hi Pablopikachu,

As MartyMurray pointed out, there is no sentence correction on the GMAT. GMAC took the entire question type out, so now the verbal section is just CR and RC.

Hi bb

In the given links for question patterns, there is no mention of questions related to statistics (mean, median, standard deviation) either in problem solving/ data sufficiency. Am I missing something?

I would definitely love to practice those question types, as I am frequently going wrong in that section/ question type.

Hi. They coordinate geometry is included and is a part of the GMAT focus quantitative material. However, on the GE focus it is called “functions” (or at least I think it is)

I believe the classified as a part of algebra and it’s not a big sliver.

Hi bb,

In the pie chart for CR, there is this "Additional Evidence" question type, accounting for 2%. However, in the current CR sub-forum, there does not seem to be an "Additional Evidence" tag under the question type filter.

I'm wondering if the "Additional Evidence" type has been merged into other question type? Is so, which one? I guess what I really wanted to ask is - how can we find a few questions that fall under this category?
