I started working as an IT consultant in May 2013. In June 2014, I landed a new gig and I had some time on my hands in the evenings and I decided to start studying for the GMAT. I prepared for about two and a half months and was able to perform pretty well in it (although I was a tad disappointed that I performed better in Verbal than Quant
). I completed a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering in December 2012 and I didn't have any work experience before I did my Master's.
I had some questions with regard to my B School applications :
1. What kind of effect (positive/negative) does having a prior Master's degree in another field have on my application.
2. I performed much better during my Master's when compared to my undergraduate days and I was wondering as to what GPA is accounted for during B-School applications? Does one matter more than the other or they are both taken into consideration?
3. Does the typical number of years required for a successful application affected by the fact that I spent about 2.5 years earning my Master's?
I hoped that mine would be a common scenario, but I have not been able to gather information regarding this. Could someone shine some light on solutions to my questions. I would heavily appreciate it!
Thanks in advance!
