hi, been doing some timed sets recently and I observed that no matter what the section is I always tend to take longer on the first Q (~4 min), does anyone have tips to overcome this?
Warming up beforehand will help but in general you dont need to worry about it too much as long as you’ve caught up the timing by around question 5 (it’s perfectly fine to take 3-4 mins on some questions, as long as your overall time management is good!)

Do you think this might be related to nerves? Do you usually feel anxious when tackling the first question?

usually happens during first question of any section, will try do some warm up questions and practice between timed sets and other tasks t o train my brain, thanks guys
Yeah that’s what inertia is

But know that if you try too many questions before taking a test, you’ll be fatigued. So try to achieve a balance
