Sorry to pick on this thread, but I think that we need to own our GMAT score and not come up with feel-good 'pats on the back' to make us feel better about our scores. There are many constraints under which many people worldwide take their GMAT - Many Americans and people from elsewhere work 50 hour weeks and have very little time to squeeze in for their GMAT preps. Many others have to take GMAT within a month tops to be able to apply by a certain date. There's a US army officer stationed in Afghanistan currently who has recently scored a 670 - when congratulated for his efforts, he simply said that it was easier to study in Afghanistan because on days when he did not go out on a mission, he had nothing else to do!

And please, Iran and its neighboring countries or India, for that matter, are not in such bad shape that you get mugged the moment you step out of a room. Also, if we know that we will have to make a 2 day trip to reach our GMAT center, we will prepare accordingly and finish our preps ahead of time - and also, be mentally prepared for it.
You have GMATClub access in Iran, looks like - as also access to OG12 and GMATPrep and possibly, other tutorials as well. We dont need much more to prep for GMAT - do we?

This is really interesting! Although, it might be a little depressing for me since I didn't do so well on my first attempt. Retest scheduled for May... hopefully, I will do better! :)

China does a lot better than India on quant. A Q48 is only 49th percentile in China in 2010 while 78th percentile in India. The average in China is higher than Q48 in 2013.

A Q48 is 73rd percentile in 2013 while this scored easily got you past the 80th percentile a few years ago.

Hi all,

I have recently found this Interactive GMAT Comparison Tool on the GMAC web-site interesting.

You may compare your performance to the performance of other GMAT test-takers per different categories/countries.

So, for example if you are aspiring MBA candidate from India or China at the age of 26 you may see how well other guys in that category perform and what is your percentile in peer group.
You may discover also that women on average perform better than men ...but up to 540 score and then men are performing better. Girls but don't be disspointed so much. :)

Only the major categories are presented.

See example of verbal % for test-takers from USA, India and China.

Here you may see how Chinese and Indian test-takers perform if compared to all MBA applicants.
Guys you are math wizards :)

No, unfortunately GMAC has pulled it down and made it only available to bschools.
I am going to lock this thread so that it does not confuse anyone else. Thank you! If you want to discuss this topic, please start a new one.
