hey BB, how r u..?
I used all MGMAT books for concepts and OG and Verbal Review for practice. To be honest, I know that I did not practice enough which did me in today.

It's important to take your mind off it for a while :)
many factors impact your score, including how relaxed/confident you are but the biggest issue is how much versed you are in basics such as arithmetic and grammar.

not sure if you saw this post, may help: gmat-study-plan-for-gmat-novices-start-your-gmat-journey-80727.html

If you have already, then think what contributed to the lower score and don't start working on it again until you figure that out.

You bring up a good point about environment and how you feel that day. When I took the GMAT, the proctor had this big issue with a headband that I was wearing in my hair (I'm a woman). She considered it a "headcovering" and told me in a very condescending way that "headcoverings are not allowed". Given, the headband was made of plastic and about an inch wide. That got her on a kick I guess because she also asked to check my pockets. All the while, others are looking at me like I am some sort of cheater or something. Also I happen to be Black so maybe she was harboring some sort of stereotype or something....because nothing she said made any sense or agreed with reality. Nevertheless, I was very frustrated, and just wanted out of there from the start!

For sure, I was disappointed with my score. I usually do pretty well with standardized tests. However I did not prepare either....outside of just buying a Kaplan book and reading up a bit on how the test is structured. When I saw my score, I had to put things into perspective. The only reason I took the GMAT was to gain admission to the particular MBA programs that I applied to (the GMAT being the only outstanding item for 2 of the 4). So I waited to hear back. I got in to both programs (and cancelled the other applications). I was not going to pay another $250 if I did not have to.

Sometimes you just have bad days...and that can influence your score a lot! We can only do so much, but do what you can to be calm and collected on test day!
