Hello, apoorv1031. I agree with what has been written above. You may find it useful to look up the questions you missed right here in the GMAT Club forum to see what level of difficulty has been assigned to them, based on the results of GMAT Club users who have taken those same questions through this site. It is not that the level of difficulty always aligns between GMAT Club and official questions--I have seen a Hard question from the OG, for example, rated as Medium on this site--but again, that could be because GMAT Club members might be answering the questions on the site more or less accurately than GMAC™ thinks they ought to. The point is, if you are missing an Easy question here or there or a couple Medium questions, the bar is much harder to raise, like pumping iron with an empty barbell compared to one with weights on the ends. Every question missed is like adding another weight, and questions missed in the earlier part of the test seem to affect the outcome more than those toward the end. The only thing that everyone agrees on is that if you miss zero questions, you will earn a perfect score. If I were you, I would focus on clawing back those eight questions, one by one. (I think that is a fine performance in Verbal. A few tweaks here and there, and you will be in the 40s in no time.)

Good luck with your studies.

- Andrew

Hi apoorv1031,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. To reiterate, your GMAT score is based on not only the number of questions you answer correct/incorrect, but also the difficulty of those questions, among other things. So, as has been said, yes, your score is accurate. Certainly, if you’d like any advice regarding your study plan moving forward, reel free to reach out and I’d be happy to help.
