Hi all,

I gave GMATPrep1 and got the above scores. I know its very poor but without any preparation is it OK?
Also, I have joined Jamboree coaching for the same. My Target GMAT is 700+.
Planned month for GMAT = 1st or 2nd week of August 2014.

Any tips?

Thanks,
Vaibhav

Brutal truth - Its pretty bad and a quant 41 for an Indian is really really bad(even without prepration) but dont worry at all, give 3-4 months to prepration, stay dedicated, you'll reach 700, its not tough, just need dedication.

give 2-3 hours everyday without fail and you'll be good. Jambooree is good for initial push, I also got coaching from them form their NFC center but you'll have to work a lot more than they'll teach you there. 10x more.

Thanks buddy.
Is there any link to see how much others scored during their GMATPrep1 without any prep?

Lel!!! ... There is no such link, you can ask everyone though, I scored 610 but with a little prep. I would suggest you to stop worrying about this and concentrate on GMAT, give it early so you can get time for applications.

Hi Vaibhav. The average official GMAT score is a 540, so that means the average starting score is probably around a 500. But it doesn't really matter as you can improve drastically. Scoring a 700 is very possible with the time you have to prep, as long as you prep wisely.

You have a lot of work to do in Verbal, as you scored in the 6th percentile there on your diagnostic. I would definitely recommend using the MGMAT Verbal foundations book at the beginning of your prep. It is a great guide to start with for low Verbal scorers. And in general, plan to prep more on verbal as it often takes longer to improve on and is more challenging to gain points on. A Q41 is the 64th percentile - not at all bad to start with.

As far as materials to use, a plan to follow, and guidance on getting the most out of each prep hour, I recommend GMAT Clarity.
