Hi all,
First off just wanted to thank the active posters of this forum. Lurking around and reading the thoughtful and intelligent replies has been very valuable to me.
I'm taking the GMAT on August 24th and have studied for the past month or so focusing exclusively on the Quantitative section. I took the GMAT Prep exam under realistic conditions (did the essay, IR, timed breaks, etc..) and received a score of :
670
42 Q
40 V
I ran out of time on the Q ( left 3 questions "blank") and had ~8 extra minutes on Verbal.
I was relatively happy about the Q score but disappointed in my Verbal. It seems that I missed a few tough sentence correction questions and made dumb mistakes on 1 or 2 CR questions. My minimum score goal is 700 but my true goal is 720.
My first question is - how far is a 670 from a 720 ? I understand one cannot simply say that if i got X more questions right I'd be at 720, but I'm looking for a gut feel on how difficult it'd be to get to 720 in a few weeks (my thought is that I'm relatively close).
More specifically, and from a strategy perspective, would it be best to focus on studying sentence correction rules / principles or focus more heavily on my time management and skills in the Q section? I am obviously going to do both, but was curious to see if folks thought that focusing more heavily on one side vs. the other would be more beneficial.
I have a day job but have really blocked everything else out of my life to singularly focus on the GMAT for the next month.
Thanks in advance for the help.
