Hi,

I am interested in doing an MBA but would prefer doing a one year MBA program. I wanted an opinion on what are the good one year MBA programs specifically if I want to move into Consulting?
I have around 6 years of experience in the Analytics & Data Science field but my GMAT score is average, 680.
I am trying to evaluate if there are MBA schools which I can target with my score or should I try to increase my GMAT score

Thanks for the help :)

Hi MayankBansal,

You might wanna have a look at this list of many one year MBA programs around the world- https://gmatclub.com/forum/list-of-one-year-full-time-mba-programs-222103.html

Hi Mayank,

Thank you for your post. The list of major one-year programs out there is not super exhaustive, so HKD's previous post (which includes a link to a helpful file listing notable one-year programs) might provide you with enough to work off of. May I ask where you're located geographically and where you'd consider pursuing an MBA (from a country or continent perspective)? That will allow for a more specific response.

Generally speaking (and without much other context), your GMAT is a little below-target for the very top end of the one-year programs, which would be best suited to send graduates to strong consulting firms. Also keep in mind that higher-end consulting firms have very structured MBA recruitment processes that often chart the entirety of two-year programs. Students enter the recruitment process very early, engage in heavy case practice, hope to secure a summer internship, and then hope to join full-time. It's a little trickier making that same transition via a one-year program. That doesn't mean you can't do it, you'll just have to be a little more enterprising in terms of how you engage with and prove yourself to the firms.

Please feel free to share a little more information and I'll offer further thoughts!

Thanks,
Greg

If I were you, I would compare this list of the top ranked 1 year programs:
https://aringo.com/mba-1y-one-year-programs/
With this list of top ranked business schools specializing in consulting:
https://aringo.com/mba-corporate-strategy-and-consulting-specialization/
In order to get some ideas and get started.

As for your chances of admission I can't really answer that without having a full profile with more details, so I would suggest you try our chances calculator for that instead:
https://aringo.com/mba-admission-chances-calculator/

Good luck!
