Hey
Jkreider,
Based on the information provided, you seem to have a strong profile for both Harvard and Wharton. Your GMAT score of 740 is above the median for both schools, and your GPA is impressive at 3.95. Additionally, your work experience at the top consulting firm Bain & Company and your current position in LMM private equity, along with your leadership position in a non-profit organization, demonstrate strong accomplishments and leadership potential.
It is worth noting that both Harvard and Wharton have holistic admissions processes and consider a range of factors beyond just GMAT and GPA. Your diversity profile and background growing up in poverty could add a unique perspective to the student body and strengthen your application.
In terms of retaking the GMAT, it may not be necessary, given your strong overall profile and the fact that you have scored above the median for your target schools. However, if you feel that you can improve your score and it will make you more competitive, then it may be worth considering.
Regarding super scoring, some schools do consider super-scored GMAT scores, but it is best to check with each individual school's admissions policies to confirm.
Overall, you have a strong profile for both Harvard and Wharton, and it will come down to how well you can articulate your achievements, goals, and fit for each school in your application. Good luck with your applications!

Hey team, Just got done with my 4th attempt, and I'm looking for some advice on if I need to retake the GMAT. I got a 740 again, but ot sure if that cuts it for my profile.
I'm targeting Harvard and Wharton (might apply to GSB, but not entirely sure because frankly I don't think I'd fit in). Last year, I was interviewed at HBS but got dinged. I'm applying again this year with another year of work under my belt and an promotion to Senior Associate.
I'd really appreciate anyone's insight here on retaking--I seem to crush it in the practice exams, but there's always one thing or another that goes wrong during the actual test itself.
I'm also wondering if the Adcoms look at all scores you submit, because if you superscore my GMATs, I have the equivalent of a 760 with the 49Q and 45V. I've proven that I can hit over the median for the schools I want to go to--is there any reason to keep pushing here?
Relevant score data
Thus far, my scores have been:
1) 690: 43Q, 41V (Feb 2019)
2) 730: 47Q, 44V (Dec 2019)
3) 740: 47Q, 45V (March 2023)
4) 740: 49Q, 41V (April 2023)
All tests were taken at testing centers.
Practice exams have regularly been higher: 2x 750 with 49Q and 44V, and one 770 with 49Q and 48V. Manhattan have been lower, but everyone knows that their CATs are junk anyways.
