I applied in Round 1 for INSEAd and got my decision for both today .
I got waitlisted for INSEAD ( post interview) which was my top choice & I got waitlisted for Imperial too 🥲. What should I do now? Is there any hope I’ll get off the waitlist ??
I have an 8.9/10 GPA and a non Quantitative background. I have a couple of great competitions / awards under my belt & my extracurriculars are good. I also go to a top university in my country. However the weakest point in my application is my GMAT score it’s not in the 690-700+ range. Do you guys have any recommendations for Backups?

notofwonderland - sorry to hear it didn't go better with INSEAD/ Imperial. What was your GMAT score, with Q/V split?
Your GPA/ pedigree and ECs/ competitions sound interesting. I'd suggest applying to some "reach/ safe" MiM programs in Round 2 e.g. ones which are aligned to your career goals, and have GMAT average around your score. This can help diversify the risk, while you await updates on waitlist status from the "ambitious" programs.

notofwonderland I am sorry to hear about your experience. Getting onto a waitlist after interviews is very disappointing as you were likely quite hopeful. To provide guidance, we would need more information beyond what you have mentioned here, specifically the breakdown of your Q and V scores and the exact GMAT score. Predicting whether it was the GMAT score that didn't tip the decision in your favor or if there were other factors involved is important. Typically, for someone not from an overrepresented demographic, there might be better chances of conversion even with a low sub-700 GMAT score, so sharing more about your background would help .

I come from an Architecture Background from An NIT in India. My GMAT score is below 650 🥲. I don’t have the luxury of taking a retest at the moment. I had gotten an offer from EDHEC with a scholarship but I did not accept that as I am not ready to commit to a 3Year program.
I am thinking of applying to ESCP but I am concerned about getting waitlisted again because their average GMAT seems to be above 650 .
