Hello,
In my first year of my undergrad I received a D in a class which I had to then retake. On my transcript it shows that I received the D, however, this grade doesn't count towards my GPA since I received no credit for it. On my transcript it shows D with zero credit. My school also doesn't show the final calculated GPA on the transcript. I am wondering if in my own calculations I should add the D in? I did retake the class and get a B.

You should not add D in.
Period.
You should only calculate marks for courses you got credit toward your degree.
Simply as that.
I am wondering does your transcript show that you indeed did retake the course and get B ?
Why should D then even matter.
And if you want you can always address/clarify that issue in your personal essay.

On my transcipt it later shows the same course title with the new letter grade. The only reason I am worried is that the D is still on the transcript.
