I studied in a non american university and finished my cursus (5 yrs) with the mention "magna cum laude". I tried to assess my GPA using some wikipedia page with an explanation of the conversion between GPA and other grading systems. I compiled a GPA of around 3.2 mainly due to the fact that I scored lower grades during my first year at university but improved every year finishing above 3.5 during my last two years. During the GMAT I was asked to report my GPA and I reported 3.2 not really knowing how good/bad that was and because I thought that it was just some statistical data for the GMAC. Now, this GPA appears on my GMAT report. Moreover, I see on the web that magna cum laude refers to a GPA of 3.7 or smth.
My questions are :
- when you compute your GPA, are you supposed to consider any single lecture followed during your cursus or only the last year or the two last years?
- Is the GPA reported on the GMAT report of any significance to the adcoms or are they looking at the official transcript only ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
