Bad news for waitlisters!

I just attended the online chat and found that Haas is not increasing seats for 2015 session. In April when I called them they said we will definitely increase the seats because we are offering admission to EMBA admits and it will be very unfair for EWMBA applicants to not increase the seats.

So basically if there are 20 waitlist candidates and Adcom has offered 20 seats to EMBA candidates that means we all could have been on the admit list. Unfortunate for 2015 applicants

I don't trust Haas any more. Good that I applied in UCLA and got admitted

Hi All,

Did anyone attend the feedback dinged sessions with the adcom members this year or last year ? If so, can you please tell me if I have to be prepared with my essays/goals or future career plan during these sessions ? Will these sessions be one-sided or will there be questions from adcom representative as to why we are applying to Haas etc ?

No- you dont have to be prepared for anything except the questions you want to ask them. Its a very standard format- they will go down the list of strengths and weaknesses etc. At the end of it you may not have any unanswered questions. I

I am still on waitlist "File under review' status. No hopes but still not able to get it off my mind.

Final few days and then everything will be settled.

When did you get the call from admissions? Any idea if they still have seats left?

Thank you, they told me that a spot opened up and they decided to call. I had just reported a job change (promotion with considerably different job duties). Good Luck.......if anything i know how you feel. i hope you get in.

I dont think it means that they are reviewing the file. It probably just means that you have not been denied yet and there is a possibility that you could be given admission. It is extremely frustrating to say the least.

hi, dumb question from a haas future applicant.

i noticed some people talking about haas 2015, 2014... are those the graduation dates? 2014 doesn't seem to make sense for a 3 year long program.

in any case, all the responses are for people starting fall 2012 this year right?

I'm going to be applying this coming october/november for round 1 so that makes me a 2013 student? or a 2016 graduating student?

Hi Guys,

I just got accepted into the FEMBA program at UCLA. Th deposit is due Jan 31st.

I have also applied to the EWMBA program at Berkeley, who will release their results on Feb 1st. Although EWMBA is my first choice, I do not want to gamble and loose my UCLA seat.

Would it back-fire if I requested the Ad Com to release my result a couple of days before the main date? Has anyone else in this forum faced a similar situation before?

Any suggestions??

Calculus,
I anticipated the same dilemma early on . I was in touch with UCLA ad on about extending the decision date and there was someone in charge of these matters. I heard that they are very accommodating depending on your reason. That said maybe try and get an extension on UCLA since I've never heard of anyone successfully getting an early decision with haas
