Thanks ToInfinityAndBeyond.

I'm surprised that you received this email. I did not! The standard reply I got just said that my application was being considered for R2.

Was this mail in reply to a specific query, or was this just the standard response you received?

The email I am referring to had a subject 'Important Application Next Steps' and was sent to me 3 days after I submitted my application. It looks as a standard email they send it to all the applicants.

just checking in here to see if you all have any questions.

for round 2 candidates. Last year I got my invitation to interview in the first few days of Feb. You'll probably be getting an invitation this monday/tuesday.

I have a question. I am a round 1 applicant. If you selected "evening" cohort. Is there flexibility to switch to "weekend" later on? The reason I ask is I am an out of state applicant and am not sure what my work situation will be.

i know someone who switched from tues - thurs to mon - wed, and a weekend to evening.

Do you guys this it's pretty much a forgone conclusion at this point if we haven't recieved an invitation to interview?

Going by last year's EWMBA thread, I see couple of folks who were wait listed without an interview so I won't come to that conclusion yet.

lol, i was thinking the exact same. I wonder if there are less applicant's this year since the economy has been picking up. Which if it is the case, would be good for all you applicants.

Trying to help :) ..they might put candidates on WL if not accepted without interview...just saying..@packet82 - can you comment ?

Until you get a rejection letter, there's still hope. One of the people in my cohort was accepted in July; 2-3 weeks before orientation.

So what round did he apply, R1 itself? Yes, being WLed is better than dinged. But looking at last year's waitlist thread which was
started after R1, it seems like most of them stay :(, with just ~ 10-15% clearing into the admit pool. But then, last year might
be an exception, especially if the number of apps are down this year :) ...

All in all, it seems that the WL candidates have a steep mountain to climb at Haas. Make that steepER for engineers :) Also Haas also
doesn't provide a 1:1 waitlist consulation AFAIK. A 1:1 feedback for those on the waitlist like the one Anderson FEMBA does would
have been very nice, but I guess the difference here is that Haas waitlists a much larger percentage of applicants than the FEMBA
UCLA program. Haas will have an online session for all the waitlisters though ... Oh well, something better than nothing. But who
knows? Come Thursday/Friday, I might not have to worry about the waitlist ... either way :) ...

I am new member to this forum. I have applied for R2 and got an interview invite. Its really helpful to see the interview experiences from others in the forum.

One question I have is: Since the interviewer only has my resume, if I am asked about a defining principle, should I state the same example from my essays to be consistent or should I share a new example? Any for any other question as well, should I share new examples or be consistent with examples in my essays?

Since your interviewer will later on read your essays, why not give another example to strengthen your case if you have a good one? The more Haas principles you imbibe and showcase, the more power to you!

As for me when I interviewed, I was specifically asked to give an example of a defining principle other than the one which I had written in my essay.

No idea what round she applied in. I never asked. The point is, there's always a chance you'll get in until you get the final rejection letter. Put your best foot forward, and do the best you can to improve your profile if you're on the waitlist. R1 is difficult simply because so many people end up on the WL.

I wouldn't put any faith in that number. People use different forums and last year had at least 2x the traffic that a normal year has had. A 20-30% drop in applications is pretty unheard of outside of Columbia 2 years ago.

Hi all,

First time posting here. I applied in R2 and submitted the app on Jan 21st. Got an invite for interview on 23rd and interviewed today. The questions were the usual ones that most of the interviewers faced earlier.

Walk through the resume
2 questions based on what I told about the work experience
Leadership experience. What did I learn?
My style of leadership
Any conflicting situations? How did I handle?
What does my manager say about me?
A critical mistake I made
One weakness of mine. What am I doing to correct it.
What I wrote in the essay about Haas' defining principle.
One question that I expected the interviewer to ask and the answer for it.
Any questions before leaving.

Though the list looks longer than usual, we finished the whole interview in about 25 mins. The interviewer was friendly and cordial. Overall, it was a nice experience and it felt like a chat than an interview. I hope I did well. Now officially in the pool of candidates waiting for the final result :) Good luck to all.

Just 4 days to go (3 for the folks lucky enough to get a call!). I am starting to feel the nerves already! Concentrating on work is going to just get harder till the results come out :). Good luck everyone...

Three (or two) more days until R1 decisions! My online status still says that they have not yet received my transcripts. Is this true for anyone else? I've sent them twice already and I'm thinking they're just not updating it?

Same for me. If you have gotten an email that your application is complete than it should be fine. They will contact you if more info is needed.

Interesting... I never got an email saying my application was complete. They did email me early on to let me know that they have not received my transcripts. I resent them, asked them the status about a few weeks ago and have not received a reply.

I would just call the admissions office and get confirmation that they received everything. Mine says incomplete too but it also says that the scanned versions I provided are sufficient for now and that I would need to provide the originals if they recommend me for admission.
