I KNOW Consortium website mentions that applicant has to be permanent resident or citizen. But I am wondering what might be the consequence if an international student applies through it. At what step will that be void? What do they ask applicants to prove nationality/residency? I am not saying I will lie that I am resident or national. Even if I keep filling that I am international student, won't the application go through?
Will schools reject such candidates, just because they violate one criteria of consortium?
I seriously want to cast my net wide and applying to 6 schools in one shot is too lucrative for me, application fee and effort wise.

As far as citizenship, permanent residence and state residency is concerned, for each, an applicant will have to provide the necessary proof - social security number, copy of green card or documents to prove state residency. If you fail to show proof for any of these, you application will not be considered as you are not eligible even if somehow you manage to apply. Generally, for such applications, the system will prompt if you are not eligible. Why do you want to apply to a program for which you are not eligible.
