Well, GMATclub has grown up, it has overgrown GMAT and became a real Business school forum instead of just single exam forum. In that sense, I think it would be wise to have everything one needs to enter b-school in one place, instead to have many members that are forced to look for other forums for some important issues. TOEFL is certainly such an issue for ever growing number of international students.

I agree. I found this wonderful site long after I had taken the GMAT. I would like to be able to turn off all of the GMAT forum updates and just focuse on information about schools. Is that possible?

You can control all of the communication preferences in your profile.
If you are subscribed to any forums, you can unsubscribe
Also, if you are subscribed to any threads, you can unsubscribe from them (individually)

Moreover, the forum is pretty smart. The way notifications work, for example let's say you participated in some thread a long time ago and now someone replied to it, if you do not visit that thread, you will not receive notifications about subsequent replies. So as long as you don't click through to visit the thread, you won't hear back from the system about it (it interprets it as if you don't care). Let me know if any other questions about this....

This is doable and will be implemented on Monday.
Any other fields we should add while we're at it?

The good part is that if a person does not fill them out, they don't show up in the profile
Do you think having fields like:

WE (Yrs) 1:
Industry 1:
WE (Yrs) 2:
Industry 2:
WE (Yrs) 3:
Industry 3:

are appropriate?

It allows people to get a quick sense of the main things bschools are looking for, instead having to search for the member in the Profiles/Admits/Dings thread.

Thank you.
Frankly - I have no idea if it will be popular or not, BUT! I am willing to try anything (at least once).
Obviously if it takes away value and overcrowds the profile area, it may be a negative, but we'll add it and if it gets in the way, can always take it off.

Yeah, that's definitely a valid point. I thought about that as well. We'll see how people utilize it. Should we make a temporary announcement on bschool forum page for PR and to get feedback? Maybe even a small poll?

Hi,

First of all congratulations for the really great site for GMAT preparation.

I have registered for the GMAT club tests.

It would be really great if there is an option for exporting results to excel sheet.Currently, I don't see this option enabled. If there exists any then do let me know or please enable this feature.

This will be really helpful.

Not sure how this works(not an web person) - i log in using different laptops(mac, pc) and if I read a post(say P1) from my mac, everytime i use the forums from the mac, that particular post will be displayed as read but if I use it from my pc, it is displayed as unread. Not sure if that information is stored in the browser setting/cache but it would be of great help for people to check the unread posts from different laptops/computers.

Sounds like the forum feature. I will research but don't hold your breath. I have a suspicion, this is a cookie or something else that's local.

hi Guys

While posting a SC/CR question we have an option to specify which category does the Question fall into.(Ex 600-700 Level,700Level etc........)

Cant we add a new Category (Source 1000SC/CR). By Adding this, members can easily search for the question they require and we need to maintain a separate Sticky Thread for all the 1000sc questions.

Unable to open links with 8080 port

Ex: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=61660

Should we remove the port and use the rest of the link?

YES! Somehow it got out. The 8080 version should not be used/available, so if you find a link, just remove the :8080 portion.

Even Googling some 1000series questions gives some 8080 port URLs. These URls finally end up with a blank page.

Thanks. Unfortunately we'll have to get through that and wait for Google to lose the cache. one of those painful things that has to be done sooner or later :( Sorry for the inconvenience...

Thanks to walker and bunuel and some other members we have math book, prob/comb problems collection and other useful products.
I know it is not easy but it would be nice to have similar thing for verbal part too. For example, grammar book.
