Since it’s been 15 days, my guess is that you’ll be getting your official score quite soon. Please update us once it’s been received.

I still haven't received my test-center scores yet. 26 days and counting. GMAC's response is really frustrating, all they say is wait. (Is the delay by any chance because I didn't select any schools for sending the score at the beginning of the GMAT Exam?)

I need to submit my application by Sep 8 and Sep 15 deadlines. I can apply with this score, but what if the official score doesn't come for weeks more?? I'm worried if they will put a hold on my application, or perhaps not even review it?

I actually have a GMAT Online score also 740 (Q51, V38, IR6), which I can use to apply. However, the test center one for which the official scores haven't come was 740 (Q50, V40, IR7). Which one do you think is better for Top B schools, considering the distribution b/w V and Q, as well as IR?

If test center one is better, should I apply with the unofficial score only? Or just use my GMAT Online to avoid any hassle?

Hi karanbce,

The Admissions Committees at the Schools that you apply to would likely view either of your 2 Official Scores in the same way: they're both outstanding performances (and the Q51 might help just a little bit more, so applying with that Score would be the better choice). By extension, you really have nothing to worry about in regards to how soon your Official Score from your 2nd attempt becomes available - use your 1st Score.

Hi EMPOWERgmatRichC, can you elaborate more on why Q51 score is better for Top B-schools? I was under the impression that a more balanced score will be preferred. Also the IR difference of 6 vs 7?

Furthermore, I thought that a traditional test center score might be more safer to use than a gmat online score. Any thoughts here?

Are you able to give the folks in admissions a call to discuss the situation?

ScottTargetTestPrep - They said I can apply with the unofficial score now, and submit the official when the report comes in future. They said applications will be reviewed even if they don't get official report from me immediately. So that way, it's fine.

But can you give me your opinion on which score you think is better to apply to the M7 schools? I have been getting mixed opinions. Some say balanced might be better, some say quant has more weightage. Some say traditional test center one is "safer".

GMAT Online - 740 (V38, Q51, IR6)
GMAT Test Center (for which the official score is awaited) - 740 (V40, Q50, IR7)

I'd go with the score that has Q51.
