I am currently in my final year BCom from DAVV Indore.........I wanted to ask that as I've heard that US b-schools prefer 12+4 basis....so I've planned to take a PG-Diploma in finance from Bangalore and then go for the 1 year Masters degree or MBA .........And Is that a gud plan to go or should i go for a consultant ?

You want to get some work experience. Most US programs require at least 2 years of full time work experience and then most average about 4-5 years of full time experience.

As to education, any 4-year accredited degree would do. A master's degree is nice but it won't be a big driver in your app.

PS. It is Doubts with a silent B.

Hi suvz052,

Your undergrad degree would be of 3-year duration. Only few MBA programs require a 4-year degree to be eligible for application. Most don’t. More on this here. So, if you’ve clarity on where you want to apply, which you may not have at this stage, then you may take a call on whether to go for an additional degree or not.

And, yes, you need to have some experience under your belt before you can realistically compete.
