Why do so few people discuss HBS on GMAT Club?
I am a R2 applicant and have not received my invite yet. Is it about time I gave up hope?
On your first question, I think most of us discount HBS as an "almost certain ding" and therefore dedicate our time to think and write about schools we consider within our reach. Almost all would love to get into HBS but chances are so slim we save our energy. My opinion on the reasons why GMATclubbers dedicate little time on discussing HBS:
1) Pants pooping thread: noone wants to post a thread were most applicants will just write: submitted, not interviewed, then dinged.
2) Which school posts: there will be no doubt that almost anyone admitted into HBS will enroll (except maybe for the 10% who prefer Stanford or maybe Wharton). So no room for HBS or X? discussions.
3) Value for money posts: getting an HBS education is as ultra-elite as it gets, so there's little point on discussing whether the 150k you'll spend + lost salaries make sense vs. future earnings.
On your second question (whether you are out) I wouldn't know. I know that some interview invites came out early February but I'm uncertain on whether they are still being distributed.
Hope it helps. L.
