Hi. Good to see version two now 😇👍
I would say that it will be hard for most people to comment with something very specific and detailed unless someone was in the same shoes in round one and did the research with current students from these programs. Even current students have not gone to all of these programs so they wouldn’t be able to tell your comparison between them.
Your best bet will be engaging in networking perhaps a second year or first year students which honestly will be something very helpful for your future career as well.
I can save you some time and tell you how the conversation is going to go. They’ll be very proud of their program and tell you that things are awesome and great but once you ask them about their internships and the opportunities the reality will become a little bit more apparent.
But that is OK, this has been a hard year for tech to recruit and even M 7 have been struggling. There are just not that many opportunities.
Also I would say that most answers will probably not give you a happy fuzzy feeling and you will still have to make a leap of faith with any of these programs. There will always be something different such as one is much bigger than others and others may have slightly better employment report and on and on. There’s a lot of noise.
If you have companies you have in mind to work for, which I assume would be Amazon, Microsoft and maybe a few others, start looking at how many alumni from these programs are working there because those will be the people you will be messaging.
I would go a step further and actually start messaging them and telling them that you’re choosing between these three programs and would love some advice. Should you go to the same program or perhaps take a bigger scholarship instead and see what they tell you. Many of them would be fairly open and if they reply, these people will be your network for the future so even if they could provide you completely useless information, the fact that you can talk to them in the future has tremendous value.
