Apologies if i have violated the rules of posting to the forum. I need some assistance to develop reading and comprehension skills ,primarily for GMAT exam. I am a non native english speaker and find topics such as literature, social science, religions, Humanity very abstract but at the same time i feel that i can develop r/c skills over time by continuous reading and struggling to get the context of passages. Can someone please advise me a website where i can find bunch of (mild/very) abstract passages and its simple english version, i feel such study material will help me in stepping up and understanding the general tone of writing used by literature writers/authors.
Thanks in advance for reading this message and replying me.
Regards, Lucky

Official Guide 13, Verbal Review 2nd Edition ... These two "paperback" resources should be more than enough to get you ready for simulated-timed practice tests.
If you're really behind the 8 ball as far as reading complex English material goes, I highly recommend you check this out:

From what you've described, it's not perfectly clear what your *real* problem is....
1) Is it that you have trouble understanding the words in RC passages?
or
2) Is it that you're scoring poorly in RC passages because you don't know RC tactics, patterns, what notes to take, how to spot the common wrong answers, etc.?
I ask because "fixing" the first item does not necessarily fix the second; you might be focused on a part of this process that might not lead to a big score improvement.

Hi Rich,
Actually both #1 and #2 . however, after reading the RC materials and some very good posts at gmatclub, i feel little confident now.

Yeah, this forum is more than anything you'll ever need.
Steer away from this "hack" named Rich Cohen. He's just trying to pump up and generate views to his "scam" website.
A GMAT study buddy of mine, she joined Rich's site, "empowergmat", and completely lost 99 dollars. He just reuses information found on this site, but organizes it for people to study --- only on an outdated video format and really slow server. She told me that he even "fakes" this other person named "Max" -- who teaches the Verbal portion of his site. But, in fact, it's so obvious that it's the same person, Rich! --- but, it's like he's talking in Slow Motion (or using a Voice Modulator of some sort ... ). Just funny and sad if that's really the case, in my opinion.
Personally, I wouldn't take his advice for a minute, as nothing substitutes for hard work and focus. You pay for what you get. Just my opinions.
