Hi manishred07,
The good news is that you scored really well on quant, right? That said, I understand that you are not satisfied with your verbal score, so the question we need to ask is why you scored so high on your practice exams but lower on the real GMAT.
Assuming that you took your official practice exams under realistic testing conditions, the results show that, on a good day, you are capable of scoring higher than V27. Thus, it’s quite possible that nerves, stress, tiredness, or a combination of all three negatively affected your test-day performance. However, it’s also possible that you have some lingering weaknesses that were exposed on test day. Although I’m unsure of how you prepared, it’s possible that, in your preparation, particularly in verbal, you did not really learn to do what you have to do in order to score high on the actual GMAT. Rather, you picked up on some patterns that were effective in getting you relatively high scores on practice tests. So, for you to hit your score goal, your preparation, particularly for verbal, probably needs to be more complete, meaning that you have to go through the various types of GMAT questions carefully to find your exact weaknesses, fill gaps in your knowledge, and strengthen your skills.
For verbal specifically, you have to become more skilled at clearly defining the differences between trap choices and correct answers. Otherwise, you will get stuck guessing between two choices or be surprised to find that you incorrectly answered questions that you thought you answered correctly. Becoming more skilled in this way takes carefully analyzing all of the answer choices to lots of verbal questions to develop an eye for the logical differences between the choices. In other words, you have to go beyond answering practice questions and reading explanations to doing deep analysis of questions to learn to see everything that is going on in them.
In order to follow the path described above, you may need some new quant and verbal materials, so take a look at the GMAT Club reviews for the
best quant and
verbal courses. You also may find my article with more information regarding

Thank you Mr Scott for a detailed reply, I surely am doing as you have suggested for verbal section. I would like to hear from you on my method/ approach.
I have made a study plan till 22nd Jun, 23rd kept free before taking test on 24th.
On each day I am solving 10 SC by writing down the whole sentence on the paper and then understanding different parts of it and analysing the meaning. After understanding the meaning and pin pointing the fault in original sentence I move on to options and find out faults in 4 of them to home on to the best answer choice. I am using only the official source questions. This I am doing to train my eyes to find out what actually is going on in the sentence. I shall move on to the advanced part of SC wherein I will read the question stem on the screen and would repeat the process as I have been doing on the paper in my second level of preparation, starting 15 Jun.
On each day I am solving 10 CR questions under timed condition by analyzing the argument given, identifying the conclusion, understanding how premises have been used to arrive on to the conclusion and thinking as to how can I break the conclusion before moving on to the answer choices. I am using official questions for this also.
On each day I am solving 2-3 RC passages, under timed condition.
On each day I am also solving 10 DS and 10 PS questions along with the questions that I have bookmarked on the
GMAT Club tests.
In addition to these I am taking a mock every fourth day. I have already taken Official Mock 1 & 2 from GMAC, and will be taking Official Mock 3 & 4 from GMAC on 16 and 20 Jun respectively. My Official GMAT is on 24 Jun. The scores in the retakes of Official Mock 1 & 2 are as under:
1. Official Mock 1 (Repeat) 8 Jun 20 730 (Q50, V39)
2. Official Mock 2 (Repeat) 12 Jun 20 740 (Q49, V41)
3. Official Mock 3 (First Attempt) 16 Jun 20 720 (Q50, V37)
I took the mocks in the timed environment and at the same time as I would be taking my official exam.
Is there anything else that I can do further my efforts to secure a good score.
Analysis/ suggestions are most welcome.
Thanks in advance for helping me.
Regards.
