my history.
27 years old (almost 28) so this is getting REALLY annoying that I cant get into a full time program.
I have not applied yet before to anywhere but talked to several schools about it.
My GMAT experience
1.)320
2.)400
3.)420
My GPA is bad, 2.4 because i **** around in 101 level classes (ie. didnt go)
My upper level (degree oriented) class work was 3.2 GPA
I have 4 years of experience in my said industry (worked with a couple start ups, and did very well)
Should I even attempt to apply at this point? this is getting extremely frusterating. I just got back from my 3) attempt at the GMAT and im a huge ass right now to my wife, and am super depressed. I was expecting to atleast get a 500. I put in about a good 4 months of studying
EDIT: to add to this, im looking at state schools like LSU, NCSU, Univ of Georgia, Univ of Houston, South Carolina State Univ (i heard they are giving out scholarships to white people so maybe id have a good chance here), East Carolina, Coastal Carolina, etc. Most of these say atleast a 500 and up on GMAT.

I'm sorry but you're gonna have a very hard time getting into any schools with those numbers. Scholarships? don't worry about that right now. You cant do anything about your GPA, but you can build an alternative transcript, search for that phrase on these boards. Basically you take a few classes and get A's to show schools you can handle the course work. That couples with a better GMAT score will put you in range of the schools your looking at.
What was your GMAT study plan?
Search for LOW GPA also, there are stories of people getting into top schools with lower GPA's than yours! theres a 1.89 that got into cornell, it can happen but you have work to do. AT least your WE sounds good.

In a few words I'd want to say that you should take advice to improve your GMAT score. Probably you are not studying in the right way to get the score you desire. Someone in this forum said that to get around 700 you only need to master the basic concepts and I agree with him. It's interesting that in spite of all you progressed.
I would not apply before get an higher score. You can. Your GPA shows that you are able of this achievement.
In my strategy, I'm covering the basics through OG 12th, Kaplan material and Manhattan books, to refine I'm studying this excellent forum and in the end the tests from GMAT club. They are more difficult, sometimes frustrating but enlightening.
