thanks for the words of wisdom.

alternative transcripts...can you just apply or pay for a class or 2 at any university? dont you have to get accepted to do this?

also, for studying I used GMAT for Dummies, kaplan math review (which i did not like. seemed like questions i never saw on any of the tests i took), GMATprep from mba dot com (which to be honest I found most helpful and would like to find something similar for this new round of studying). I want a CD program or online prep that has practice questions (from old gmats, or gmat like questions). I liked doing it this way as it felt and looked like the actual test. any recommendations to similar programs that look and feel like the actual GMAT is really appreciated.

Hey,

Some schools let you take non-degree courses at will. Community College will let anyone take any classes.

Gmat for dummies is probably the worst book out there lol.

Check out Manhattan Gmat guide....they are tough but people here SWEAR by them. I came here after getting a 490 on my first test, read up on what resources get people 700+ (I have a low gpa too) and followed it to a tee and got my 720.

This isn't rocket science but you have to begin with the most comprehensive materials.
Start here:

You know most of this stuff but there are great study plan there. Good Luck and please feel free to PM me or ask any questions that you have!

Hi mate,
don't be upset for this. You need to concentrate on concepts more.
I do not know your breakdown (raw scores) for each sections but it must be a total of 48-49 points if you add Q and V raw scores, and I think scores must be equal. So you must pay equal attention to both of sections.

I would recommend you consider the Knewton on-line course,
For all courses see here: gmat-prep-course-reviews-discount-codes-78451.html
Discounts: gmat-courses-discounts-and-special-discount-codes-89957.html

Why? ( I do not have any commision for this). Knewton guarantees 50 points score increase or money back. Often people score more than 50 points, of course there is much harder to push up a 730 score than a 520 score.
Knewton laim to have GMAT like questions, I found some paraphrased GMAT questions ( i mean a GMAT skeleton).

I think an on-line course best fits your requirements. If you buy an online course you may ask questions, by sending them to tutors.

Don't even think about giving up, if you are serious about MBA. :)

What Diagnostic test do you mean ? Gmat club diagnostic test? If yes, I would not reccomend you to do so as of now.
I think you will be able to improve by at least 100 points. There are a lot os stories how people improved their score by more than 200 points.

i just got the princeton review 2011 book today. I going to be hitting the concepts HARD.
Thanks you all.

also, i just sent in an application to a local university here to work on an artifical transcript this spring.

What classes and how many classes do you recommend I sign up for (and which ones may eventually count towards a MBA at public state university)?

Everyone here will tell you Manhattan GMAT beats everything here, maybe Veritas Prep is up to par. Please invest in those.

Princeton has to cater to a broad number of people and therefore wont make their materials hard enough to get upper level scores.

MGMAT and VERITAS only do GMAT and are geared towards the high scores. Those are the way to go.

when i was skimming thru it, it looked more like a break down of how to answer certain things and more concept oriented (which i was told i need to work on. with a 420, i think i need concept skills more. Also, im shooting for 500 and up. a 600 would be amazing but its not realistic for me IMO). The manhattan GMAT looked VERY thorough, but seemed to be ALOT of sample problems with no explanations besides a short part in the early beginning of the book.

i still may pick it up though. today i just got the princeton one
