Hi JulieHarmon,

How are things coming along with your prep? Are you still looking for advice regarding GMAT quant resources?

Majority of students falter in their GMAT exam because they start their preparation with OG.

This is a major mistake because if you start your preparation by solving OG questions, you are skipping to practicing questions without learning the concepts. This is a trial-and-error based preparation methodology which cause a two-fold problem:

    1. It increases your preparation time by up-to 5X.
    2. You tend to miss out on concepts even after solving many questions.

I definitely second this.

I too started out with just the OG questions, because I had found success previously in school with using the trial-and-error method. For GMAT though, this absolutely does not work. You have to take the time to learn the fundamentals and to learn proper strategies for approaching each type of question. During my prep, while just using the OG, my scores stagnated around 650 until I started using the Manhattan books, after which they jumped up to around 760.

Hello Julie Horman,
GMAT is not as easy as we assume. GMAT math is logic that is developed by continuous practice, and GMAT verbal is a real test of English as a language. So, we recommend you to look for reliable resources.

A score of 610 is decent but not sufficient enough to get into a top university. Considering your target score as 700, remember various possible combinations to achieve a score of 700 or above: V37/Q50, V39/Q49, V43/Q45.

First, we recommend you not to lose hope. Keep yourself motivated by eating healthy and take proper rest and sleep. Don't slog your body for long hours. GMAT study requires a comprehensive study plan, updated questions, reliable resources, and shortcuts to score above 700.
1. First, get access to our free trial lessons and free videos by visiting https://www.mathrevolution.com.
2.
For a math refresher, you may check our 5-hour lesson plan.
3. Apart from this, you require unique and alternative approaches to solve the quant questions quickly, and Up-To-Date questions meet GMAT exam trends. Take our Q 51 shortcut module for the quant to deal with various questions in less time. Our experts will be there to help you.
4. Also, you should check this forum for some reliable resources related to verbal. For sentence correction, you may refer OG or Aristotle Grail. For RC and CR, try solving level 700 questions.

Gradually, with the help of mock tests, you will be able to track your performance. You may try a free diagnostic test on our website.

Success is within your reach.
Good luck!
