I am really shocked and disappointed with my 1st practice test (GMATprep). I got only 290 whoaaa..this is horrible seriously..let me tell you that i practiced Quant PS problems from official guide with 80 percent accuracy..even today i solved some doubted questions and solved 700-800 level questions in less than 1 minute for each question. i haven't done DS because they seem scary to me honestly..
Now coming to the verbal part..m good in sentence correction, i solved all sentence correction questions in official guide and verbal guide with 90 percent accuracy. The thing is i know i haven't completed all the quant chapters and critical reasoning part but i was not expecting such horrible scores..i was numb for next 10 minutes. 2nd point is that in practice test i got some questions wrong continously (eg from 3 to 7 questions in line)..but still i am shocked with this dissapointment. plzz help me coz i have my exam on 27..if anybody can help me making a schedule for next 14 days?? m really depressed.
Hi,
290 is no doubt a very disappointing score...
But a silver lining is that you are Good at PS and SC, some areas where many find difficulties.
I can just give few suggestions.
DS:-
1) You will have to practice them.
2) If you are not comfortable with DS, you will lose out on very simple Question and you may not see higher level questions in PS. Thus good at PS will nt help in enhancing your score.
3) DS is not difficult. you have to knew some very simple concepts.
a) ensure that you make it a habit and conscious effort to keep the info of statements separately while solving individually. Its easier said than done. It has to be made a habit.
b) variables X and Y can be same , -ive, +ive, int, fractions etc unless specified.
c) Its easier said than done. It has to be made a habit.
4) dont get discouraged. and spend some extra time in initial Qs to ensure that you do not go wrong in inital 10 Qs.
All the best. Depending on your dream score and commitments, you can decide on postponing dates. Believe in yourself and practice on your grey areas.
