Hi Sir/Ma'am,

Just gave my GMAT for the second time. Got 760 (Q50/V44) but a low IR - 4.
However, in my previous attempt a month back, I got 730 (Q51/V37) and IR-7.

I'm an engineer from one of the top schools in India, currently working at a leading non-profit with 4+ years of experience. I'm planning to apply to some of the top schools like HBS, Wharton, Booth, etc.

Will the low IR score on my latest attempt spoil my chances? Will schools consider by previous IR score?

Kindly advice.

Regards,
Kartik

Hi Kartik,

First of all congratulations on a fantastic score. It will surely put you in an extremely competitive position for all the schools you are aiming at. In terms of your IR, unfortunately the schools will not look at your previous IR score, however you should not worry about it.It is a perfectly good score to apply with. Just use the optional essay to explain the drop in IR score and you should be good.

Hope this helps. All the best!
