Can we say that (E) is wrong because it is restricted to "Television drama" which would narrow the condition required for the conclusion to hold true?

Option (E) is incorrect because it is out of scope of our argument. The argument focuses on what fuels imagination. Where the mind visualizes characters and setting details etc. A television shows you picture details and hence doesn't require you to imagine them.
Option (E) talks about making people think. It is not the same. e.g. if I see a documentary on a social issue, it could make me think about the issue, how the social issue impacts my surroundings, whether it affects me or people I know, what I could do to fix it etc.
