Answer - D

Sale price = 15000

Ana's share = 1/15*15000 = $1000
Saph' share = 450 + 3(Ana's share) = $3450

Total share of Ana & Saph = $4450

Amount given to charity = $15000 - $4450 = $10550 ~ $10500( OPTION D)

Total Sale Price 15000
Ana Kept 6.66% of 15000 which is 6.66*15000/100=$1000
Also Saph kept 450+3*(Amount kept by Ana)
= 450+3*1000
=3450
Total money kept 1000+3450=4450
Total money for charity=15000-4450
=10550
Closest is 10500
So option D

IMO D

Ana and Saph sold their doughnut shop for $15,000. They gave most of the proceeds to charity, but Ana kept 6.66% of the sale price, and Saph kept $450 more than three times the amount that Ana kept. Which of the following is closest to the amount that was given to charity?

Sale Price = $ 15000
6.66% = 1/15

So, Ana Kept = 15000/15 = 1000 &
Saph Kept = $450 + 3x(1000) = $ 3450

So, together they Kept = $ 1000 + $ 3450 = $ 4450

So Amount given to charity= $15000- $4450 = $10,550
Closest number is $10500

(D) $10,500
