gmat prep is the most accurate because it is from the test makers. BUT, it is really old so the percentages might be a little off since the score scale is based on past 5 years(since the gmat prep made) right?

I agree that it should be the most accurate, but i'm still wondering how it works. I got even more confused with the 2nd GMAT prep I took this morning since I got 13 incorrect answers vs. 19 in prep 1, and only 3 in the first 10 questions (the last 3), vs. 5 in prep 1, for the same score 47... :? Cf. attached files

Thanks anyway for the links.

I'm just gonna try to do my best without thinking too much...

I honestly think that you shouldn't pay too much attention to the number of questions wrong, position of questions and so on and instead try to focus your energy on preparing well for the GMAT. When I took my GMAT Prep, I had 11 questions wrong and like 3 wrong within the first ten in Quant and I ended up with a 49. Without knowing the difficulty of the questions, on an absolute level, it is impossible to say what the pattern is, and since GMAT Prep doesn't give you this information, I'd take it with a grain of salt and just take the score as an accurate indicator, give or take thirty points and just keep preparing.

Good luck!

Hello Friends,
I have been preparing for gmat for the last 2 months now.

Yesterday i took GmatPrep1 and scored 570(Q 47, V 21).
verbal analysis:
SC: 8 out of 17 correct.
RC: 8 out of 13 correct.
CR: 7 out of 11 correct.

while practicing SC from OG12 my accuracy was not that bad but in test i almost screwed it.

I am not able to plan out my preparation now.
Friends please suggest how to proceed further to reach 700+.

This is what i studied till now:
Quant: kaplan maths workbook and OG12
Verbal: Manhattan SC, PowerScore CR, SC and CR from OG12.
So far i have not touched RC.

8 out of 17 wrong is a very large percentage, so I am tempted to believe that you're not really focusing on the concepts. Initially, just go through MGMAT SC again. Chapter by chapter. Do all the problem sets and focus on the concepts more than the timing. Then practice questions from some other source other than the OG, say the OG Verbal Review, maybe. Then try to maintain an error log. Identify your weak areas and work on them. Then go back to the OG and do the problems timed.

Repeat the same for CR and RC. Practice is key here. And error logs will greatly benefit your learning process as well.
