What is everyone doing to prepare for their interviews for SOM? I am crafting my "3 points" that i want to come out of the interview, my "walk me through your resume", and a bunch of stories across the board for behavioral. I am also going to take those answers and try to run them by with (hopefully) a SOM alumni or student.

What are other people doing? Anyone hiring an admissions consultant?

hmm I also certainly think that preparing solid answers for questions like 'walk me through resume' would not hurt, but from what I've read, I also want to make it about having an interesting two-way conversation, rather than me reciting my perfectly orchestrated answer and getting my 3-points across. Any Yale SOM students/alums bother to chime in?

I agree. The whole point to practice is to know what points you want to speak of, and not to struggle with what your next words should be. Not that you have word-to-word prepared.

But I would like thoughts on how you guys know if your solid answer is good, if it's hitting all the points. Where do you get that advice from?

I recommend having 3-4 solid stories that can answer a variety of the behavioral questions you may get. Definitely know the program very well and know what makes SOM unique. In addition, among other questions, be ready to answer what you will do for a plan B if your goals don't work out.

Feel free to reach out for further interview prep advice! Good luck

Best,
Scott
