GMAC says the scores are valid for five years.

So if you took your MBA and MSc within five years, you could use the same GMAT score.

Actually, it would be best to see the b-school's website for more information.

Most b-schools accept the score 5 years before the application deadline. However, there are some schools that only accept scores that count till the date of matriculation. (If you took the test in Dec. of 2010, your score will not be valid for the 2015 app since school will start sometime in 2016) I believe Harvard and Columbia follow the latter.

In your case, 3 years is definitely within the alloted time. But, take it when you're ready; no sense in wasting 250 bucks.

Out of curiosity, if anyone knows, will my job for the next 3 years be a precursor to what jobs ill be able to get for internships? My situation is that live in Las Vegas and the casinos are really the only corporations around here. I can most likely get a casino front desk job at some of the larger casinos, and I could most likely move up into management or the other option is move into a management position of a smaller company from the get go, but I don't think I want to be work in management (at least store management or floor management) once I get my MBA. Keeping track of a bunch of employees that don't want to be at work doesn't seem like fun and it doesn't make that much money.

So I guess what I am asking whether i will I be a candidate for other internships or will I be set in stone for management type internships.

Thanks.

I really don't think there's any industry or field where an MBA wouldn't be of use. Also, many (some say the majority) of MBA applicants at top programs are looking to switch careers anyway. That said, the gaming industry recruits heavily from MBA programs, often to fill positions that are unavailable from within the casino backoffice itself (or impossible to enter from the front of house).

Working in the marketing department for Harrah's or MGM would be a dream job IMO.

You will certainly not be set in stone for any one particular type of industry or function internship. Among the primary benefits of an MBA program is that it provides you a degree of flexibility in your career path. A lot of people join MBA programs simply to switch careers.
