Hello Bunuel,

Isn't the answer should be 5, Why we are calculating when 5 is not there, The questions say "how many 3 digit numbers are there such that if 5 is one of the number" that means answer should be 570, 572, 574 etc.

"If" doesn't restrict the choice to the number 5, it just explains what happens when it occurs.

"If" should be interpreted as "in the event of".
