How to go about researching a Business School's personality and the industry most alumni are in post-MBA? I want to work in outdoor apparel/ equipment brands post my MBA which is a retail-focused industry (not a very popular career choice). From what I understand some schools are known for certain USPs like Michigan is known for supply chain management. Also, certain universities look for certain kinds of industry exp/ extra curricular/ personality of the ideal candidate. How can I research these as there is no information on these on B-school websites?
KajalKatariya - global MBA rankings such as Bloomberg, QS and FT include a parameter "% of alumni in (sector X)". This would be a good starting point to identify programs with alumni presence in your target sectors. The employment report would typically have more datapoints. Keep in mind though that no one ranking is bullet-proof, hence, it'd be prudent to form an independent view based on the data available.
Conversations with alumni is the best way to gain a nuanced perspective on the culture and persona of the school, as it goes deeper than the broad themes mentioned on websites.
