I have been studying for GMAT for a while but somehow my verbal score is stuck at 30. I have read the
MGMAT books but nothing seems to change the score. I am aiming for a 700+. Kindly suggest a plan.
P.S - RCs are my weakest point.
Hi
Stuti17,
Here is what if followed will help you improve verbal immensely:
The real issue:those who have not been the avid readers are going to take time to improve in verbal.
SC:Meaning
MGMAT SC - Do this as many times as you can
e-GMATCR:Patterns
Pre-thinking/Paraphrasing/finding the weak logic or be able to criticize
MGMAT CR/Power Score CR Bible
RC:Read 2hr everyday (from sites like newyorker/wsj/havard magazine/Novels)
MGMAT RC
Overall:Read Read Read.
Practice alot.
Do only official material or
MGMATSpend as much time as it takes to learn from every single word from a question.
Revise Revise Revise
Make flash cards or Sit silently and think about the patterns - just keep them fresh in your memory. Do it till the time those patterns are not 2+2=4 for you.
Remedy: READING: Improves timing and reading of relevant topics gives you background of the topics discussed in GMAT.
PRACTICE: We know it all :D
REVISION: It helps our mind to recognize the patterns and remember the mistakes we made. We get better at deciding on a choice.
Pattern recognition: Saves alot of time. Specially in CR. This is one big thing that helps in prethinking.
