What most folks recognize is that the first 10 questions are important, BUT this is not the same as saying that you can hack a high score because if you spend most time on the first 10 or 12 you will likely have to guess the last 20 and get even a worse score.
What this should translate into is this: pay more attention on the first 10 questions, spending a tiny bit more time to check your work, make sure you don't crash and burn on the first few questions, and just stay alert. Do not try to solve every question at any cost however. Even if you have to guess, do it. There is no use in spending 3 minutes to guess a question if you could have done it after 2 and definitely NEVER spend more than 3 mins on any quant or verbal question (RC excluded obviously).
