Hi all and thanks for the help so far in studying for my first attempt, albeit I am a little disappointed with my score. I scored a 690 (46Q, 38V).
I was expecting my score to be more in the range of 720-740 as I had scored 770 and 740 on my GMAT PREPs with a 50Q on both and do understand that GMAT prep tends to be easier. Seems like I must have made a lot of dumb mistakes or been really unlucky on QUANT to fall from a 50 to a 46. I'll wait for the ESR to explain these results as well.
Anyways, I am targeting a score of 760 and wanted to get the group's advice on how I can get to Q50 from Q46 and be more consistent there as well as get to V43-V44 on Verbal.
My prep (which has been over a long period of time due to work and side hobbies):
1. E-GMAT verbal
2. Gmat Club Questions
3. Gmat Club Tests (I was getting 46,47,49s on the Quants and 39-45 on the Verbal ones)
4. GMAT PREP (740 (Q50, V40) and 770 (Q50, V47))
Any advice on other resources and what should be my approach will be much appreciated. I want to take it again before the end of the year and I'll make sure that I don't study for a while now.

Working on Solving Approach for Verbal may be helpful. See if you can improve your Absorption on RC, for example.

Hi rikinmathur,
First off, a 690/Q46 is a strong Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

There's no harm in continuing to study of course - and you have the opportunity to pick up some significant points in BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. Before we discuss any of those potential issues though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) Did you use any additional study materials (such as the OG) over the course of your studies? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
