Hi Experts,
I have preparing for GMAT since March and I had been giving mocks , my first prep mba.com score was 560 because I skipped around last five questions in verbal . My second test on veritas fetched me 590 with 45Q , 26V . My third test on 800score fetched me 720 42Q, 49V . Today's score was devastating again 610, 50Q , and 23V. So , in all these test my analysis says that the very first RC I get is what decides my verbal score and questions further. Often all the questions are wrong in my first RC , and few questions in the further RC's . I also tried the strategy for summarising paragraphs but it doesn't works during the test. So my question starts with 650 level and gradually goes down to 450 because of maximum wrong attempts in the first RC itself. I have tried everything , read books too solved OG and I can't find a way out! For once I thought of taking the e GMAT score but I have already spent a lot of money in a local coaching that did not good to me and I personally feel all I need is to focus on self study now and but this wouldn't be possible without an expert guidance so I am here asking for help ! Please help me. I want to get rid of this RC fear and terrible treatment fear on test soon and that is only possible once my strategies works and I gain confidence for now I'm in a utter despair .

Im not expert but very happy to share with you my experience. I used to struggle with RC for the long time.
To improve RC, you must clarify 2 things.
1. Your Reading ability: if you are weak at this, poor you. You must work extremely hard to improve it. It cannot be improved immediately. You must consistently work day by day during for your prep. My reading ability is also weak when i prepared GMAT. After following BB (gmatclub founder) advice, I started reading Novel. That decision mostly contributes to my very long road. Reading ability is important not only for RC but also CR and SC.
Only one way to improve; read read and read
2. Your strategy: You should work and find a effective way to read and practice your skills.
For me, I read slowly, take note to follow author thought. I thinjk that reading fastly cannot save time. When you read fastly, you dont understand and read again. it costs your time and confidence.

Can you suggest me the novels ? I do read but I am not sure if I am picking the right ones. Obviously I dont read Chetan Bhagat, have been reading Malcolm Gladwell, Harper Lee, Mark Lewisberg, Sheryl Sand, Charles Dickens, celeste Ng stuff. Sometimes, I also try my hands on Economist. I guess now i need to work on comprehension part more. Thanks for the advice
