Hi atshy21saraf,

How long have you been studying for the GMAT?
What resources have you been using?

Since you have less than 2 weeks until your Official Test Date, and you have a defined score goal, I really need to know the specific answers to these questions before I can offer any advice:

When you took your CATs:
1) What was your score on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)? What 'brand' of CATs did you take?
2) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
3) Did you take them at home?
4) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
5) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?

Hello again,
I have attended Jamboree's classroom, So it's been 2-3 months since I started my prep.

I have taken two Jamboree CATs in last days and today only I took GMAC's test-1 Where I scored 640 (Q48, V29).
1) Jamboree tests didn't show scaled score (that is the reason I had to mention the number of correct question)
2) I took Jamboree CATs without IR (AWA+Q+V) and GMAC's Exam-1 along with IR (AWA+IT+Q+V).
3) Yes, at home
4) Almost same time that is around 10 in the morning (My actual test time is 9AM)
5) I try not to do anything which I won't be able to do during actual test.

I am doing silly mistakes in Quant sections.
So I am looking for suggestion for Q and V both.
What is the number of questions correct do I need to score maximum possible score in Quant?

I have my GMAT on 6th Nov (i.e. on 13th day from tomorrow).
I am getting 31-32 of 37 correct in quant section but Verbal section is dragging me down ( getting almost 50% correct).
any suggestion for verbal part.
and how good is 31-32/ 37 in quant?

Hey atshy21saraf

The SC section is the easiest verbal section to make improvements on. Once you understand how to think and approach this question type, there are only so many ways you can be tested. Here at GMAT Pill we developed the 10 core frameworks which detail the 10 ways to approach GMAT sentence corrections.

Here is a sample video detailing one of the core frameworks: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... stion/2184

For CR, we recommend a visual framework approach to help you understand the complex short passages and how each item relates to each other.

Here is a video describing the visual framework approach: https://www.gmatpill.com/criticalreasoni ... Estate.mp4

To improve RC - you really need visual guidance. Don't read articles about how to improve reading. You improve by actually doing or watching someone else do.

That's why you might find these video walkthroughs helpful: https://www.gmatpill.com/practicequestio ... tions.html

Best of luck on your studies!

Hi atshy21saraf,

Since the GMAC CAT is the only one that you took in its entirety, we have to use that score as the basis for comparison. While a 640/Q48 is a solid performance, you still have to pick up 80 points to hit your score goal. With just 11 days to go, that is probably too difficult of a task for such a short timeframe.

1) Do you have the flexibility to push back your Test Date?

I ask because while you can take the GMAT as scheduled, you will almost certainly have to take it again (and pay another $250). While you can 'squeeze' a few more points out of the Quant section, the bulk of your missing points are in the Verbal section, so you need the necessary time to learn/practice some new Verbal Tactics. You would likely have a much better chance to hit your score goal if you had 4-6 weeks of study time remaining (and not 11 days).
