BackgroundI previously posted on July 7, 2022 (
https://gmatclub.com/forum/what-next-394746.html#p3040026), providing details about my background and aspirations for pursuing an MiM. Since then, I have gained 18 months of experience as a Software Developer in the eCommerce vertical at a US Healthcare company. I initially considered pursuing a Master's degree in Management (MiM) but decided to focus on an MBA instead due to the following reasons:
- Higher preference for MBAs over MiMs, especially in India
- Additional work experience gained, allowing for more competitive applications
- Strong connection to India and reluctance to relocate abroad permanently
- (But I am) Open to pursue an MBA in the US for its quality and exposure
My goal is to achieve a competitive score in the GMAT Focus Edition for an admission to one of my desired schools. For Indian institutions, my primary target is the Indian School of Business (ISB). I am also open to exploring top-tier MBA programs in the US.
TimelineI am committed to dedicating the necessary time and effort to achieve my target GMAT Focus Edition score. A structured timeline would be beneficial to guide my preparation and ensure adequate time for applications.
ISB Eligibility and Application TipsI welcome insights from ISB alumni or individuals familiar with the Indian MBA admissions process. Guidance on eligibility criteria, application strategies, and profile building would be highly valuable. Also, considering the profile mentioned in my previous post, what are my chances of getting into ISB and what can I do to improve it?
Resources for GMAT Focus Edition PreparationI seek recommendations for the test prep companies or resources that offer comprehensive GMAT Focus Edition preparation services. Recommendations from individuals who have successfully achieved high scores would be particularly helpful. I have previously bought the
e-gmat course twice and utilized e-gmat's Quant course, which proved to be quite beneficial. The Sentence Correction (SC) section of the Verbal course was particularly comprehensive and effective. With the removal of SC from the GMAT Focus Edition, I am seeking recommendations for other Verbal courses that can help me achieve a top score for a competitive application.
Lastly, I am grateful for any advice or assistance that can help me achieve my MBA aspirations. Thank you so much! Looking forward to some enlightening responses.
