My previous verbal scores in the official mba mocks have been 419exm 1), 38(exam 2) and 40(exam 5)

Consider working on your solving approach. Perhaps working with a study buddy who has strong verbal skills. May boost your Verbal in a short amount of time. Had a 6-hour student go from a V41 to a V45 in about 10 days. On the mocks you mention, it may be worth reviewing where and why your performance was affected. Perhaps spending too long on RC questions, for example.

Hi Verbal Experts,

I have been preparing for the GMAT since Feb'22, however for the last 1 month or so I have been completely out of touch with the Verbal section. Neither have I practiced any verbal questions nor have I revised any concepts. My previous verbal scores in the official mba mocks have been 41(exm 1), 38(exam 2) and 40(exam 5)

I want an expert to weigh in on what should be the optimal path to my previous score of 40? I have another month or so before I give the exam, i.e. I need to give the exam last by end of Sept'22.
I am also open to getting a personal tutor for verbal in India, but how do I gauge first that do I need a tutor to be exam ready in a month?

So, my two questions:

1. what is the best way to start my revision?
2. How do I gauge if I need to get together with a personal tutor for the next one month?

Hi sv2023,

It goes without saying that revising the concepts is a good idea. You may also want to solve a few questions, maybe ones that you are already familiar with. A tutor may be able to help you get going, but given that you've already got scores of V40+, it's hard to say whether a tutor can add significant value to your prep.

Hi sv2023,

We last discussed your studies almost 2 months ago. With a month 'off' from the GMAT, it's certainly possible that your Verbal skills have 'faded' a bit. That having been said, if you were able to consistently score around a V40 on three consecutive CATs/mocks, then I don't expect that you lost much of that skillset. I've sent you a PM with some notes and additional questions.

Hi Rich,
I have written back with the answer to your questions. Kindly take a look. Thanks.

Hi Ajitesh,
Thankyou for the sound advice,I'll start revising the concepts and start doing some practice questions.
So would you advise giving a mock post doing the revision of concepts and doing some practice questions?
