Hello !
I'm currently working as an Assistant Professor in an engineering college in India. My career started when I graduated in Civil Engineering in 2010 and thereafter I spent 2 years in a construction project. I obtained my master degree in 2014 and since then I'm teaching engineering students. Now I'm looking forward for MBA and among all the specializations my interest lies in Finance. I would like to know which colleges should I aim for and what are the challenges that I could face because of my profile.

Thank you for your post. A lot is missing in your profile description, so it's difficult to guide you. However, as it relates to your university selection, you can reference this article. It will help you narrow down your list.

As far as your profile, you should have a strong GPA and equally strong GMAT (if targetting top universities, of course). While you have an atypical professional background, you belong to an overrepresented body of candidates, so you need to be competitive within your demographic. Because you are an Assistant Professor, you should also show leadership in one form or another. A component you will need to articulate is your purpose for pursuing an MBA.

I think that you will not have any problems either with college or with work, because now most people value knowledge, this is the most important and relevant.
