I have I just grown too cynical to see the need for this?

Quote:

Harvard’s deep-pocketed alumni already support a roughly $29 billion endowment, which finances one the most generous scholarship programs in higher education, promising full tuition to students whose families earn less than $60,000.

I admit it's a neat idea, but the idea of lending money to Harvard students smacks of helping those who don't really need it.

https://GlobalGiving.com does the same thing by matching development needs with donors. They've done some pretty amazing things.

Yeah, Harvard is one the THE most generous institutions. I never heard of anybody who didn't go to Harvard because of financial problems.
