I'm noticing a strange trend. When I get questions wrong, I more than often get two questions wrong in a row, while practicing the OG as well as in mocks. This happens in questions of all range, from easy to difficult and even in mixed difficulty. Is there a reason this could be happening?

One explanation could be that you are spending more time on that first question you got wrong, which may mean that you want to solve the next question even quicker. However, i am thinking that you shouldn't worry too much about this trend and see if there are any trends in common question types that you consistently answer incorrectly.

Maybe its a carryover effect. First we choose an option ABCDE and then carry it in the next qns thinking that the same option as in last qns cant be true and thus, try to forcefully justify other options. If you chose a wrong option for the first qns, then its just setting up a vicious cycle.

I do this a lot myself, especially in verbal but trying to learn how not to repeat this exam taking behavior.

Sometimes we keep in mind previous questions and try to solve it. Therefore do not concentrate on current question on 100%.
