svrider, congrats on going to Anderson! Great school for entrepreneurship and still has reach to the tech firms (only 1 hour flight away). Some good digital media and entertainment companies down there (we went to visit NBC Universal, Warner Brothers, and Blizzard a few weekends ago).
My role is called "Project Manager", but gaming companies are notoriously random with their titles. A Project Manager can be a Product Manager can be a Product Marketing Manager can be a Brand Manager in different companies, go figure.
Basically, I was told that my job will consist of working with marketing, design, development, operations, and production to coordinate their schedules and make sure they're on track. I'll also be working with each of the groups a little bit to learn what they do and how they contribute to the process of making a game. I'll be working with the external publishing arm (I think), so might actually work on an MMO that's co-developed with another company, pretty exciting stuff.
Anyway, if I do a good job, they're well known to give full time offers and allow you to move around the company to a position you want to do, so I'm crossing my fingers!
