Hey gmatclub community!
Ok I have been putting in 2 to 3 hours a day going through the quantitative part on the gmat review 13th edition and on the gmat quant review 2nd edition. The problem is that I have worked through them two times over and I still have trouble even understanding what some questions are asking. I downloaded the gmat club quant book from here. Do you think I just need to go over the book on the basics and focus on a specific subject one by one before I continue to answer a mixture of quant questions?

Hi,
I will suggest you to go topic by topic and follow something like this
For i=1 to end
-> Study "chapter i"
-> go to grockit.com and schedule game for "chapter i" with difficulty level easy, If doing good then increase the difficulty to "medium" else go to next step
-> re-read the "chapter i" if you are doing bad
-> else goto next chapter and repeat the above steps.
-> practice a LOT on grockit.com!
Also, Prepare a progress chart something like this
Prepare a xls sheet (topic by topic).. and keep a track of your progress on a daily basis. Use color coding (Red,Orange,Green).
Red: You are weak in theory - brush up your concepts.
Orange - Done with theory but weak in application of the concepts
Green - Done with the topic

Don't fall into the trap of just blindly doing hundreds of questions. The books you are using are definitely the right ones - but before you exhaust those questions, make sure you go through some core review.
In DS, for example, did you know that the phrase "x contains only odd factors" - is really just a fancy way of saying "x is an odd (positive) integer" ?
Get used to these identifications and you'll be able to get things to "click" faster. You'll also make better use of the questions you are currently doing.
