Hi varunpaul0505,

Out of curiosity, how were you scoring on your practice exams leading up to your GMAT?

Hi varunpaul0505,

First off, a 740/Q49 is an outstanding Score - and with this Score, you can comfortably apply to ANY Schools that interest you. As such, a retest is almost certainly NOT necessary. With highly competitive Schools, it's important to remember that beyond needing a strong GMAT Score (which you now have) you also need a strong OVERALL profile AND you need to properly 'market yourself' to each individual Program that you apply to. As such, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and in simple terms, your time and energy would likely be better spent improving other aspects of your application than trying to improve what is already an outstanding Score by a couple of points). Based on your other posts, you have already reached out to some of those Experts, so let's see what they recommend.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Congratulations varunpaul0505 on 740!
IMO you should concentrate on your profile and applications rather than on retake!

All the best!

Hi varunpaul0505,

Out of curiosity, how were you scoring on your practice exams leading up to your GMAT?

To be very honest, I had not given a full mock test before the actual exam.

I had done timed practice sets on the verbal section and had gone through 70% of the quant concepts before giving the exam.

Got it. Did you make any decisions on how to move forward?
