I've applied for the IE IMBA program for Sep-15 intake (tight, i know ), i've submitted everything even before writing ieGAT or GMAT. I've attended the first interview, which went pretty well
Now i've received an email inviting me for a second interview round. I was wondering whether this is a positive/negative sign? What sort of questions should i expect? What are they looking for in the second interview? That sort of thing
Since the first interview i've attended the ieGAT test (result is not out yet), i've also got 680 on my GMAT
I come with almost 9 years working for a major oil service company as a business development manager, in addition to one year working in the humanitarian sector (WFP). I am also an entrepreneur and a political activist
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance

Yes I have. They called me today for 25 minutes, and basically repeated some of the first interview questions like "tell me about yourself" and "how would an MBA from ie fit into your plan and what value will you add to the student body" and so on. Be prepared to answer some program-related questions in terms of interest, focus, and your willingness to go for an internship or an exchange program"
They said they would get back to me soon, I'm quite positive about the whole thing. Fingers crossed
Many thanks for your help! Fingers crossed! How long did it take until they confirmed the details for your second interview? They sent me an automatic email last Thursday and mentioned that they will get back to me shortly regarding the details. But I haven't heard anything from them since then. And did they call you via Skype? If yes, did you have to turn on your camera??
It took them around 4 working days to confirm the second interview details.
They called on my phone but said they are only doing this because their internet connection had a problem. We used Skype for the first interview, and yes, the camera was on, so you might wanna make sure your shirt is ironed ? :D
As for the ieGAT, they haven't yet come back with a result, but I wrote me GMAT one week after the ieGAT and got a 680, so I think it supersedes the ieGAT
Hope they call you soon
Have you searched for accommodation in Madrid? Best neighborhoods and so? If admitted, I'll be coming with my wife and little son, and I was curious to know if anyone knows the "where"s and the "how much"s
No, I haven't searched for accomodations yet....I wait for admission first. Do you finally know if a second interview is a positive or a negative sign?!
It's definitely a positive sign. My understanding is that the first interview is sort of an initial filtration process that is conducted by junior admission officers, if you survive this then you are invited for a second interview with a senior admissions officer
Ok, that's interesting. I thought that I might have given some answers that they were not happy with. My overall feeling after the first interview was not that good so it made sense to me...
But if you felt that your 1st interview was pretty good overall then I might be wrong
I had my IE Interview with an alum (Face to Face) in the 1st week of December. They hadn't gotten back to me after that so I sent them a mail requesting my application status. Now I have a Skype Interview next week with someone from Madrid. Is this a good thing? I had heard that IE usually has only 1 interview for the Admission Process. Also, if someone has gone through a second interview, can you please give me some pointers/tips.
Definitely, you should not worry that getting the second interview a negative. As mentioned above, it is good to demonstrate knowledge about the specifics of the program. One of the considerations for the interviewer is to gauge how interested and committed you are to the school once/if you get an offer.
Hello. My experience is a little different. I submitted my application for their dual IMBA / Masters in Advanced Finance program and was put through directly to the Senior Admissions Officer for the Masters in Finance programs. No interview with anyone on the MBA side. She says they will have a decision within 7-10 days. I am curious to know if this is a good sign. Just wondering why I skipped meeting with anyone on the MBA side. However, the interview I had was pretty tough and was put on the spot with really difficult technical questions I don't think anyone can really prepare for.
I'm in the process to apply for the IE IMBA (Jan intake, it sounds tight but I will do my best) and want to know if someone can help me with recommendations before submitting the application and some additonal information related to the ieGAT. Im using some GMAT excercises as a reference, but also if you can help me with what kind of excercises I need to study before the exam it will be highly appreciated.
