1. 2f(-√2) + f(1) = 1

2. 2f(1) + f(0) = 1

3. 2f(0) + f(-1) = 1

4. 2f(-1) + f(0) = 1

Solve for f(-1) using 3 and 4:

f(0) = f(-1)

Substitute above into either 3 or 4:

3f(0) = 1 and f(0) = 1/3

Substitute into 2:

2f(1) + 1/3 = 1 so

f(1) = 1/3

Substitute into 1:

2f(-√2) + 1/3 = 1 so

2f(-√2) = 2/3 so


f(-√2) = 1/3
