Solution

Given:
    • 55 percent of the people who purchase a certain product are female

To find:
    • The ratio of the number of females who purchase the product to the number of males who purchase the product

Approach and Working:
If 55 percent of the people who purchase a certain product are female, then
    • Percentage of male who purchased the product = (100 – 55) = 45
    • Therefore, the ratio = \(\frac{55}{45} = \frac{11}{9}\)

Hence, the correct answer is option A.

Answer: A

Note:
Percent can directly be converted to ratio.

Female = 55
Male = 45
Ratio = \(\frac{55}{45}\)=\(\frac{11}{9}\)

Thus the best answer is A.
